A heart-stopping first glance! The Pure Home designed by an Italian architect

This residence, located in Rosa, Italy, was designed by Didonè Comacchio Architects. It boasts a floor area of 350 square meters and was completed in 2025.

The overall concept revolves around a horizontally extended "plate," which serves as both the building's base and cleverly separates the interior spaces from the external environment—through green courtyards and varying degrees of permeable brick walls.

On top of this, two volumes form the building's upper structure: the larger section houses the bedroom area, while the smaller volume wraps around the rooftop sun terrace and connects directly to the bedroom.

The material selection is restrained yet precise. The main structure features smooth, exposed gray concrete, while the underlying framework is filled with large-format, light-colored bricks arranged in a nearly dry-laid manner, lending the facade a sense of lightness and airiness. Deeply contrasting metal frames punctuate the design, creating strategic openings. The window frames subtly highlight only the operable sections, emphasizing both the functionality and minimalist aesthetic of the facade.

The purity of the interior materials continues seamlessly. Polished concrete is used for the staircase’s suspended wall, with aggregates subtly visible beneath the smooth surface. Walnut wood flooring, paired with wide-format wood veneers and sliding doors, creates a warm and inviting contrast, enhancing the calm, textured elegance of the gray walls.

At the heart of the design lies the visual transparency and interactive relationships between spaces. Whether it’s the view shared between the kitchen and the north-facing courtyard, or the seamless connection between the east-side porch and the central courtyard, these elements allow the eye to flow naturally from one area to another.

The two green courtyards not only regulate light and climate but also strike a perfect balance between privacy and openness, ultimately enabling a seamless integration of architecture with nature—and fostering harmony between rationality and warmth.
