Nestled in a picturesque village in northern Poland, the building sits on an expansive 8,000-square-meter plot, seamlessly blending into the serene lakeside setting while complementing the charming, time-worn gabled-roof houses nearby.

The building's facade design was carefully conceived; due to the presence of a peat layer underground, some sections of the structure rise only 1.4 meters above ground level. This ingenious design makes the house seem seamlessly integrated with the earth, while the embedded portion of the retaining wall also provides essential thermal insulation. The exterior of the building features locally recycled wooden planks sourced from an old barn—a material choice that is not only environmentally friendly but also closely ties the house to the area's traditional architectural character.

In terms of functional layout, the design divides the house into distinct areas: the east-facing terrace boasts stunning lake views, while the west-facing terrace offers a serene vantage point overlooking the forest. This layout not only allows residents to connect with nature but also encourages them to embrace outdoor living even more. The bedroom's large windows feature a locally traditional style, while the extensive glass panels in the public spaces ensure a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor views.

Sustainability is the core philosophy of the design. The building features a reinforced concrete structure, while its flat roof has been ingeniously transformed into a green terrace—enhancing thermal insulation and boosting biodiversity in the process. The design fully considers the environmental context, sustainability, and respect for nature, not only providing residents with a comfortable living experience but also bringing positive impacts to the entire community.
