11GW! July photovoltaic installations hit a new low!
Recently, the WeChat public account "Photovoltaic Information" (PV-info) learned that on August 23, the National Energy Administration released national power industry statistics for January to July. As of the end of July, the country's cumulative installed power generation capacity reached 3.67 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 18.2%. Among them, solar power installed capacity was 1.11 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 50.8%; wind power installed capacity was 570 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%. From January to July, the national power generation equipment had an average cumulative utilization of 1,806 hours, 188 hours less than the same period last year. The cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity from January to July 2025 is 1109.6 GW!
The new photovoltaic installed capacity from January to July 2025 is 223.25 GW! From January to June 2025, the new photovoltaic installed capacity was 212.21 GW! 223 - 212 = 11 GW!
In July alone, the new installations were 11 GW, hitting a new low for 2025~
