At dawn, the photovoltaic panels over the thousand-acre fish ponds start "working." Interestingly, under the panels, South American white shrimp are being farmed, truly achieving both fish farming and power generation simultaneously.
This project is quite impressive: It can generate 110 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, earning 46.8 million yuan just from selling power. As for the shrimp, they produce 300,000 kilograms a year, worth 12 million yuan. For example, in July this year alone, over 5 million yuan was earned just from selling electricity. See, this golden sunlight really turns into a "gold mountain."
Not only the fish ponds, but even the rooftops of villagers in Qunwei Village, Xiaoshan, are equipped with photovoltaic panels. This "fishery and photovoltaic complementary" model allows aquaculture and solar power generation to coexist. Standing at Xiaoshan's first large-scale ground photovoltaic power station—the Yiling Photovoltaic Station—you can see rows of photovoltaic panels neatly arranged on the water surface, like a blue carpet.
The electricity generated by this power station is enough to supply 37,000 households for a year. Compared to coal-fired power, it reduces carbon emissions by 83,000 tons annually, making the environmental benefits clear and measurable.
The 1,100-acre ponds in Yinong Town have now become a great place for "chasing light." Qunwei Village is no longer working alone; in the future, this model might spread like stars everywhere.
It is said that Xiaoshan District is busy promoting photovoltaic construction across entire villages, with over 30 villages expected to be equipped by the end of the year. Turning "lucid waters" and "lush mountains" into a code for profit, Hangzhou's move truly brings the "Two Mountains" concept to life!
