An additional 11.23GW! Yunnan issues 23.26GW photovoltaic quota for 2025

Photovoltaic headlines learned that on August 20, the Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Provincial Energy Bureau released the second batch of new energy project development and construction plans for 2025.

 

According to the document, A total of 206 projects are included in the implementation of Yunnan Province's second batch of new energy project development and construction plans for 2025, with an installed capacity of 14.27155 million kilowatts. Among them, there are 154 photovoltaic projects with an installed capacity of 11.23 million kilowatts, and 52 wind power projects with an installed capacity of 3.04155 million kilowatts.

 

Previously, the Yunnan Provincial Energy Bureau had issued the first batch of new energy project development and construction plans for 2025. A total of 175 projects were included in the implementation of the first batch, with an installed capacity of 14.48905 million kilowatts, including 143 photovoltaic projects with an installed capacity of 12.034 million kilowatts; and 32 wind power projects with an installed capacity of 2.45505 million kilowatts.

 

Up to now, The two batches of new energy projects in Yunnan Province total 381 projects, with an installed capacity of 28.76GW. Among them, there are 297 photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of 23.26GW; and 84 wind power projects with a total capacity of 5.5GW. ！

 

This document clarifies that, Photovoltaic projects must fully commence construction before the end of February 2026; wind power projects must meet approval conditions before the end of March 2026 and fully commence construction before the end of July 2026.

 

The document also proposes, according to the work requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, first, to reflect a clear "two new" industrial policy orientation and implement the national large-scale equipment renewal arrangements. Second, encourage the adoption of green power direct connection models, promote local conversion of green power resources, and facilitate nearby and local consumption of new energy. Third, support the joint development of thermal power and new energy.
