Since 2021, Shenzhen has launched four batches of pilot projects for a total of 113 near zero carbon emission zones, covering six major sectors and all districts of the city. This has formed a comprehensive societal carbon reduction pattern. This case sharing series will select some featured demonstration cases from six types of pilots: regions, parks, communities, campuses, buildings, and enterprises, introducing their typical technical pathways for exchange and reference.

Project Overview

 

The Antuo Hill Near Zero Carbon Demonstration Zone relies on leading enterprises such as Huawei Digital Energy and Zhongchuang Xinhang. Using professional buildings as industrial space carriers, it introduces upstream and downstream supporting resources such as smart energy and integrated energy services, aiming to build Antuo Hill into a digital energy headquarters economic cluster.



Technical Pathway

 

 

The Antuo Hill Zero Carbon Demonstration Zone is the world's largest "Photovoltaic-Storage-Direct-Flexible" near zero carbon park, integrating 80% of global carbon reduction technologies and promoting the emergence of over 20% new technologies. Three buildings in the park replace original glass curtain walls with BIPV thin-film modules, with 28,886 square meters of photovoltaic glass installed on facades and 2,145 square meters on roofs. This can generate about 1.5 million kWh of green electricity annually, reducing annual electricity consumption from 11.92 million kWh to 5.9 million kWh, saving 51% electricity yearly and cutting carbon emissions by over 63%.

This project provides the park with highly reliable, integrated green power supply through photovoltaic-storage-direct-flexible systems, building-integrated photovoltaics, scenario-based energy-saving design, advanced energy storage systems, and smart energy management. It also uses leading intelligent temperature control, smart lighting management, smart park management, and smart charging management to achieve terminal electrification, intelligent management, and near zero carbonization in office, living, and commercial scenarios within the park.
