China Pavilion at the Beijing Expo
The curtain wall on the venue's roof uses translucent golden cadmium telluride photovoltaic glass. This glass is ordinary glass enhanced with a thin-film solar cell component, ensuring both light transmission and basic photovoltaic power generation. It balances practicality and artistry. The building's photovoltaic installed capacity is 80 kilowatts, generating 50,000 to 60,000 kWh annually, enough to power the ordinary lighting in the east and west exhibition halls on the second floor. When sunlight is insufficient, it automatically switches to municipal power supply to ensure continuous electricity.
