Wuhan New Energy Research Institute Building
The Wuhan New Energy Research Institute Building is designed based on the calla lily, symbolizing the "Flower of Wuhan New Energy." The main tower of the building resembles a calla lily, while the remaining parts consist of five leaf-shaped laboratories and a bud-shaped exhibition center. Solar photovoltaic panels are installed on the "flower plate" at the top of the calla lily tower; a vertical-axis wind turbine is installed in the "flower stamen," forming a complementary wind-solar and building-integrated system. It is reported that the wind and solar equipment can generate 480,000 kWh annually, accounting for 14% of the building's electricity consumption. This building has also been selected as one of the world's top 100 cases addressing climate change.
