Project Case | Zero Carbon Building: China State Construction Engineering Corporation East China Headquarters Building Project

The China State Construction Engineering Corporation East China Headquarters Building Project is located in Minhang District, Shanghai. It integrates advanced construction technologies such as green, technological, low-carbon, and energy-saving methods, aiming to establish a benchmark for Shanghai's urban ecological image. Upon completion, it will integrate resources across the entire industry chain, precisely meet the development needs of Shanghai and the East China region, and innovate the central-local cooperation model.

Technological Innovation Empowering High-Quality Development: The project team uses the PPEFF system, a prestressed mechanical splicing prefabricated concrete frame structure system independently developed by China State Construction Engineering Corporation. It constructs 1-3 floors of prefabricated structures with a prefabrication rate exceeding 40%. During construction, carbon emissions are reduced by 34.9%, forming a prefabricated concrete frame structure system that is highly disaster-resistant, quickly installed, and green low-carbon. The basement uses a full standard aluminum formwork system combined with BIM 5D AI technology and one-click fully automated 3D modeling, allowing highly flexible combinations of required building dimensions, effectively reducing carbon emissions during construction and creating an intelligent green new headquarters building for a central enterprise.

Intelligent Construction Enhances Project Management Efficiency

The project applies the company's independently developed Xingxuan Project Performance Management System to dynamically track personnel activity trajectories in real time and record actual work conditions of construction personnel. Based on attendance numbers and working hours data, it quantifies specific tasks according to work efficiency, formulates more reasonable construction schedules, effectively ensures project progress, and achieves quality and efficiency improvements driven by intelligent construction.

The project showcases the Liying Construction Full-Process Traceability and Control System, which uses visual SLAM technology combined with AI to restore and analyze panoramic images of the construction site, enabling "cloud-based" intelligent management of the construction site.

Zero Carbon Building Creates a New Benchmark for Green Demonstration

The project’s "active optimization" intelligent lighting system adopts multiple smart lighting control methods such as schedule control and daylight sensing to adjust start times and lighting brightness. The project adheres to the "passive first" principle by using thermal break connections between glass and mullions to ensure airtightness and improve building insulation and heat storage conditions. This approach allows heat retention and warmth while enabling ventilation and sun protection, achieving a harmonious unity of "passive first" and "active optimization" to reduce the building's energy demand.

The project comprehensively considers Shanghai’s hot summer and cold winter climate characteristics. Through simulation analysis, it compares the carbon reduction capabilities and economic benefits of various technical measure combinations. By optimizing technologies such as efficient cooling machine rooms, ground source heat pumps, and high-efficiency lighting, the overall energy-saving rate reaches 96.2%, with carbon emissions reduced by 71.4% compared to the benchmark building, achieving energy-saving, low-carbon, and high-level construction.

The project installs various types of photovoltaic panels on the roof and facade, creating an environmentally friendly building in a high-density large city. It meets national standards for the carbon reduction rate of "zero carbon buildings," achieving multiple goals including nearly zero energy consumption buildings, zero carbon buildings, and three-star green building certification, establishing a new energy structure system and a benchmark zero-carbon central enterprise headquarters building.
