Yancheng's Journey to Zero Carbon!
Summer on the shores of the Yellow Sea
Wind turbines spinning
On the vast tidal flats
Rows of photovoltaic panels gleam under the sun
What surges here is not only the power of nature
But also the ambition of a city
Striving for zero carbon
Data shows:
As of June this year, Yancheng's installed capacity of new energy reached 19.93 million kilowatts; in the first half of this year, Yancheng's new energy power generation reached 17.64 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 11.1%, accounting for 22.2% of the province's new energy power generation and 69.9% of Yancheng's total social electricity consumption. Three companies in Yancheng were selected as the first batch of green electricity direct connection pilot projects in Jiangsu Province, facilitating green electricity transactions of 500 million kilowatt-hours, an increase of 47%.

August 5
At the Binhai Port Zero-Carbon Industrial Park
Inside a Kaijin New Energy Binhai factory
A 220-kilovolt substation is under construction
This substation is tentatively named "Kaijin Substation"
It covers an area of approximately 2500 square meters
Expected to be completed next year
"Kaijin Substation"
Is not an ordinary substation
It is a "direct connection" for Yancheng's pilot construction of zero-carbon parks
A "direct connection road"
At the beginning of this year, Kaijin New Energy was selected as one of the first batch of green electricity direct connection power supply pilot projects in the province. Green electricity direct connection refers to a model where wind power, solar power, biomass power generation, and other new energy sources do not directly connect to the public power grid but supply green electricity to a single power user through a direct connection line, enabling clear physical traceability of the supplied electricity. "At first, we had no idea how to start, because there is very little relevant domestic experience in green electricity direct connection." Introduced Liu Long, the energy manager of Kaijin New Energy.
Until May this year, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the "Notice on Matters Concerning the Orderly Promotion of Green Electricity Direct Connection Development," proposing to meet the needs of enterprises for green energy use and improve the level of on-site consumption of new energy as the goal, and to construct and operate green electricity direct connection projects in accordance with the principles of safety first, green friendliness, equal rights and responsibilities, and source-load matching.
"With the guidance of national policies, we have a clearer direction." Liu Long said that according to the preliminary plan, "Kaijin Substation" will connect to dual power sources. "One thermal power line and one green power line, the two lines can be physically isolated using a switch. Among them, the green power line is connected to the direct connection green electricity."
The vast Binhai Port has no shortage of "power sources." Here, the annual on-grid electricity of green electricity is 4.64 billion kilowatt-hours, the proportion of green electricity in the regional input electricity exceeds 95%, and the full green electricity time coverage rate reaches 79.8%.

"This is also one of the reasons why we chose to settle in Binhai." Liu Long explained that Kaijin New Energy is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research, development, production, and sales of negative electrode materials, and its main customers have covered the major lithium-ion battery manufacturers in the domestic power battery field. In the past, to meet the export needs of downstream enterprises, Kaijin New Energy had to spend money to buy "green certificates."
"Although the cost of building a substation is not low, this is the future development trend, and we will have an advantage if we do it first." Liu Long introduced.
In Yancheng
The continuous tidal flats, the howling sea wind, and the brilliant sunshine
Are being transformed into advantages in industrial competition—

Binhai Port Zero-Carbon Industrial Park , 11 projects are being steadily advanced, including the Yuanzhi annual production of 20GWh energy storage lithium battery manufacturing, Hengyue annual production of 3 million tons of new low-carbon cementitious materials, and the Farview Binhai wind-storage integration project.

Sheyang Port Zero-Carbon Industrial Park , actively introducing marine engineering equipment projects, starting construction of the Tianshun (Sheyang) Marine Engineering Intelligent Manufacturing Base project, basically delivering the marine steel structure module project factory building and full-size blade test platform, and signing the marine equipment simulation and verification laboratory, etc.

Dafeng Port Zero-Carbon Industrial Park , focusing on the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and the opening up of new tracks for strategic emerging industries and future industries, maintaining regular cooperation with international organizations such as RE-100, TCG, and RSS, and jointly building zero-carbon innovation centers with institutions such as the Provincial Electric Power Research Institute and Unilever. A number of export-oriented enterprises such as Tianhe Energy Storage, Weina Hongxin, and Zhonglu Yongjiu are accelerating their aggregation.
Research and formulate one overall plan for the construction of zero-carbon parks
And a new power system
Two special plans for infrastructure construction
Compile and implement a "five-pronged" project list every year
Regular scheduling and promotion
Pilot construction of zero-carbon parks
Yancheng's approach is clear—

On the one hand
Aiming at on-site consumption and traceability of green electricity, it plans to build dedicated green electricity substations and dedicated green electricity lines, and promote the connection of wind and photovoltaic power generation around the park to the park through dedicated green electricity lines. Currently, all three zero-carbon industrial parks in Yancheng have achieved traceable green electricity access, and the proportion of green electricity use in the pilot area exceeds 80%.
On the other hand
Based on different resource endowments, differentiated "green electricity +" characteristic models are created. Dafeng Port Zero-Carbon Industrial Park focuses on "green electricity + hydrogen energy," focusing on attracting green electricity-demanding industrial projects and actively cultivating new energy and equipment manufacturing, green hydrogen, and marine biology industries. Binhai Port Zero-Carbon Industrial Park focuses on "green electricity + cold energy," vigorously developing emerging industries such as integrated energy, modern logistics, and green computing power. Sheyang Port Zero-Carbon Industrial Park focuses on "green electricity + new power system," fully cultivating industries such as wind power equipment, marine engineering equipment, and new power equipment.

From achieving traceable green electricity access
To differentiated layout of zero-carbon industrial parks
Now pioneering the exploration of green electricity direct connection
Yancheng's path to zero-carbon park construction
Is a vivid practice of green and low-carbon development
It is also a profound interpretation of the spirit of "taking the lead and trying first"
On this vibrant land
The exploration of zero-carbon parks is continuously bearing fruit
Providing more characteristic paths for national green and low-carbon development
