Wuhan Railway Station
This project started early and serves as an important demonstration project for the future development of photovoltaic systems on the roofs of railway stations by the Ministry of Railways. It was also the largest and highest-capacity photovoltaic building-integrated project in Hubei Province at that time.
The Wuhan Railway Station photovoltaic grid-connected power generation project has a generating capacity of 2.2MW. This project is integrated with the main structure of Wuhan Railway Station using a BIPV method. The project is mainly composed of four parts: the solar photovoltaic modules and junction boxes above the metal roof of the railway station; the inverters, low-voltage switchboards below the metal roof of the railway station; and the power cables connecting them.
The photovoltaic modules and junction boxes above the metal roof of the railway station are installed in ten areas, including eight pillarless canopies and two areas on both sides of the central hall of the railway station's metal roof, namely five on the south side and five on the north side of the railway station. The Wuhan Railway Station photovoltaic grid-connected power generation project uses currently mature monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic modules with a cell conversion efficiency of 16.95%, a module conversion efficiency of 14.96%, and a design service life of no less than 25 years.
The successful operation of the project is of great significance to Hubei Province and Wuhan City in terms of energy saving and environmental protection.
