May PV newly installed capacity reached 92.92GW! The National Energy Administration released the national power industry statistical data for January-May 2025.
On June 23, the National Energy Administration released the national power industry statistical data for January-May. By the end of May, the total installed power generation capacity nationwide reached 3.61 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 18.8%. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power generation reached 1.08 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 56.9%. From January to May, the national average utilization hours of power generation equipment totaled 1249 hours, a decrease of 132 hours compared to the same period last year; the investment completed by major power generation enterprises in power generation projects reached 257.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%; the investment completed in grid projects reached 204 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%.
In May 2025, the newly installed photovoltaic capacity nationwide reached 92.92GW, a year-on-year increase of 388%.
