On June 11, the 18th (2025) International Solar Photovoltaic and Smart Energy (Shanghai) Conference and Exhibition officially opened at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). At the exhibition, Nippon Paint, together with Huzhou Tuogao Machinery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Tuogao"), launched a new photovoltaic coating jetting process. This process breaks through traditional spraying technology, increasing the painting rate of photovoltaic frames to over 95%, saving about 60 tons of paint per GW of coating. It brings multiple breakthroughs in "efficiency, cost, and environmental protection" to photovoltaic frame manufacturing, accelerating the industry's process of carbon reduction and efficiency improvement.

As a representative of green energy, the photovoltaic industry is experiencing unprecedented development opportunities. With the global photovoltaic installed capacity continuing to climb, GW-level mass production has put more stringent standards on the efficiency, cost, and environmental protection of the coating process. However, the photovoltaic industry currently generally uses traditional technologies such as air spraying, mixed-air spraying, and electrostatic rotary disc spraying. These not only have high VOC emissions, low paint utilization rates, and high raw material consumption, but the low level of automation also limits the improvement of production efficiency. The industry urgently needs breakthrough coating technologies to achieve improved quality and efficiency.

Based on a deep understanding of industry needs and extensive technical accumulation, Nippon Paint, together with Tuogao, a modern equipment manufacturing enterprise with 15 years of experience in intelligent equipment manufacturing and serving over 1000 enterprises, jointly innovated and developed the photovoltaic coating jetting process, bringing a more efficient, environmentally friendly, and low-cost coating solution to the industry. This solution balances the leveling and anti-sagging properties of the paint film in the jetting process without atomization, and overcomes the technical bottleneck of the service life of two-component paints in the jetting equipment circulation system.

On the one hand, the new photovoltaic coating jetting process replaces traditional spraying technology with lower coating efficiency, increasing the painting rate of photovoltaic frames from the industry's common 60% to over 95%, saving about 60 tons of paint per GW of coating. This significantly improves paint utilization while reducing raw material consumption and manufacturing costs. On the other hand, this solution not only breaks the dependence of photovoltaic frame coating on third-party fixtures, simplifying production line configuration and enabling the control of constant temperature and humidity, ensuring coating effects through intelligent methods. In addition, compared with traditional spraying solutions, this process can reduce VOC emissions from the production line by over 85%, meeting the stringent environmental protection requirements of China and the EU, and helping photovoltaic companies build "zero-carbon factories".

With the support of the new photovoltaic coating jetting process, Nippon Paint's Xianbangcai ® photovoltaic composite material frame coating solution has been further improved and upgraded. With excellent appearance, adhesion, and outdoor weather resistance, Nippon Paint Xianbangcai ® has been successfully applied to many domestic and international photovoltaic composite frame projects, demonstrating its stable performance in salt spray resistance, high temperature and humidity resistance, and wind and sand resistance in extreme climate scenarios such as offshore photovoltaics and desert power stations. It has gained the long-term trust of leading component manufacturers in the industry, with a cumulative installed capacity reaching GW level (1 GW is equivalent to 1 billion watts), and has won the "2025 Rongge Technology Innovation Award" and multiple international authoritative certifications such as TUV.
