Global tracker mounting system shipment rankings released, three Chinese companies make the list!
Recently, Wood Mackenzie, a globally renowned consulting firm, released the "2025 Global Tracker Mounting System Market Report." The report compiles the 2024 global shipment volume of tracker mounting systems and the performance and rankings of major tracker mounting system companies in various markets.
According to the report, the global shipment volume of tracker mounting systems in 2024 increased by 20% year-on-year to 111 GW, exceeding 100 GW for the first time.
It is noteworthy that, in this year's tracker mounting system rankings, in addition to the previously listed China Sunergy and TrinaTracker performing well, ANTE also made the list for the first time, ranking ninth. From a global market perspective, the competitiveness of Chinese tracker mounting system companies is further strengthening, comprehensively competing in overseas markets.

For the First Time! Three Chinese Companies Enter the TOP 10
From the data, it can be seen that in the past year, three Chinese companies have made considerable progress in the global tracker mounting system market. Among them, China Sunergy's shipment ranking jumped from fifth to second in the previous year, with India being its largest market, accounting for 44% of total shipments.
TrinaTracker maintained its sixth position globally, with a market share of 6%. It ranked fourth in key markets such as Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, and is the only Chinese company among the top five suppliers in Europe and Latin America.
From a market segment perspective, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific market are the main battlegrounds for Chinese companies in overseas markets.
Among them, the European market is steadily growing, with shipments of 22.953 GW in 2024. Because Europe is a key market for American tracker mounting systems, and there are many European tracker mounting system companies, Europe has become the most fiercely competitive market for top-tier companies. The American company Nextracker ranked first with a 14% market share, while TrinaTracker ranked fourth with a 10% market share, the only Chinese company among the top five suppliers in Europe, and also the best historical ranking achieved by a Chinese tracker mounting system company in the European market.
TrinaTracker personnel previously revealed that the company focuses on high-value markets, attaches importance to technological innovation and high-quality development, and provides full-scenario intelligent tracking solutions for the industry. Recently, TrinaTracker announced that its intelligent tracking technology won the silver award at the 25th China Patent Award, the highest achievement in the photovoltaic industry's intellectual property field to date.
In addition to the traditional US and European markets, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific markets experienced significant growth in 2024 and are also important battlegrounds for Chinese companies. In 2024, the Middle East market's tracker mounting system shipments reached 15.4 GW, with China Sunergy and TrinaTracker ranking first and fourth, respectively. In February 2025, TrinaTracker announced the construction of a 3GW factory in Saudi Arabia and announced a series of pending orders, including 1GW in Saudi Arabia and 900MW in the UAE, and is expected to focus on developing the Middle East market this year.
The Asia-Pacific market had shipments of 25 GW in 2024, with India being the largest market at 15.8 GW. Specifically, China Sunergy had the highest shipments in the Indian market, at 7.6 GW. It is understood that TrinaTracker has not entered the Indian market, but based on shipments in other Asia-Pacific markets, it ranks fourth in the Asia-Pacific region.
Chinese Market: When Will the Turning Point Arrive?
From the global tracker mounting system shipment market, it can be seen that the United States, Asia-Pacific, and Europe are the top three global markets, but most of the shipments in the Asia-Pacific region are concentrated in India, while the Chinese market only has about 3.6 GW, accounting for less than 2% of the country's annual new photovoltaic installations, far lower than other regions.

In fact, looking back at the past few years, the domestic market share of tracker mounting systems has remained consistently low, mainly due to the following reasons. On the one hand, concerns about quality risks and maintenance difficulties. Compared with fixed mounting systems, tracker mounting systems have a more complex structure and higher maintenance difficulty. Most centralized photovoltaic power plants are located in remote areas, or are designed as unattended stations, leading owners to "avoid" tracker mounting systems that may pose risks;
On the other hand, due to power restrictions, in some areas suitable for using tracker mounting systems, investment companies do not have the motivation to use advanced equipment to improve power generation, which also affects the penetration of tracker mounting systems.
Third, in recent years, the domestic market has fallen into a vicious cycle of price wars. In large-scale bidding, the prices of tracker mounting systems have continued to fall, and most orders have been won by small and medium-sized enterprises at low prices. However, due to the high cost of technological research and development, the enthusiasm of leading companies to develop the domestic market is not high.
Therefore, although leading tracker mounting system companies can achieve "great success" in the global market and achieve repeated breakthroughs, the Chinese market, as their home base, remains hesitant and unable to achieve substantial development.
However, with the introduction of Document No. 136, new energy has been fully pushed into the market, and the demand for tracker mounting systems in 2025 may usher in an explosive growth.
On the one hand, the cost difference between fixed mounting systems and tracker mounting systems has narrowed from 0.6 yuan/W in the past to 0.1-0.2 yuan/W, and the cost-effectiveness is gradually becoming more prominent. On the other hand, under the background of electricity market liberalization, single-axis tracking mounting systems can effectively improve the "M-shaped" curve of photovoltaic power plants to a double-peak shape, and increase power generation by 10% during the early morning and evening hours when electricity prices are higher. This can reduce the proportion of midday power restrictions and, at the same time, due to the higher power generation in the early morning and evening hours, higher market electricity prices can be obtained in electricity market transactions.
In 2024, TrinaTracker released a set of verified data on tracker mounting systems for domestic and overseas projects certified by UL and SGS. The data shows that using TrinaTracker's AI algorithm increased power generation by 2.21% and 3.24% respectively compared to not using it, with even higher power generation gains during the early morning and evening hours. According to the characteristics of domestic electricity market transactions, it can further increase the power generation revenue during the early morning and evening hours.
The results also show that under typical cloudy conditions, the power generation gain of the intelligent AI algorithm compared to the astronomical algorithm tracking system is 9.15%, and the power generation gain during the early morning and evening hours is higher than the average daily level.

This conclusion is also supported by numerous verified data. On May 16, the 2024 annual data results conference of the National Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Verification and Experiment Platform (Daqing Base) constructed and operated by the Yellow River Company of the State Power Investment Group was held in Beijing. Among the mounting system verification results, it was shown that single-axis tracking mounting systems increased power generation by 15.9% compared to fixed mounting systems, and tracking mounting systems had better power generation during peak hours.
Under China's new policy guidelines, reducing the cost of electricity has become a consensus, and the more than 10% increase in power generation during high electricity price periods by tracker mounting systems will become one of the best paths for optimizing the selection of photovoltaic power plant equipment in the next step, and also a new opportunity for tracker mounting systems to increase their installed capacity share in the Chinese market.
