Latest progress on Guang'an's first "near-zero carbon building"!
In recent years, Guang'an has actively implemented the national "dual carbon" strategy, building its first "near-zero carbon building" - the Aizhong Low-Carbon Living Hui project. The project follows the design concept of green, low-carbon, and energy conservation and environmental protection, focusing on active energy generation + passive energy reduction. Through passive building design, it significantly reduces the building's energy consumption needs and comprehensively implements an electrified operation mode, ensuring that the building's carbon emissions remain at a low level.

The single building in the picture, resembling a "ship", is the Phase II of the Aizhong Low-Carbon Living Hui project. As a low-carbon and energy-efficient building, how does it achieve near-zero carbon emissions? The answer lies in the efficient use of natural resources such as light, electricity, wind, and water, and the innovative application of energy-saving technologies.

Project executive manager Yu Xiaolin introduced that the project embodies the low-carbon concept mainly through two aspects: active energy generation and passive energy saving. Active energy generation mainly uses photovoltaic power generation, with an annual power generation of about 3.7 million kWh; at the same time, some water-saving measures are also adopted, saving about 70,000 tons of water annually. In terms of passive energy saving, energy-saving technologies such as outdoor energy-saving glass and roofs are mainly used.

It is understood that the Aizhong Low-Carbon Living Hui project has a total construction area of 99,559 square meters and is built in three phases. The first phase is a comprehensive energy station integrating refueling, gas filling, hydrogen filling, and charging, which has been put into operation; the second phase is a commercial center, which is currently under construction; and the third phase plans to build a comprehensive building. After completion, the project will help Guang'an achieve its "dual carbon" goals and create a new landmark for green living and production.
"The project is currently in the stage of decoration, renovation, and overall planning. The exterior curtain wall is 90% complete, the exterior landscape paving is 80% complete, and the interior electromechanical installation and decoration are being carried out simultaneously." Yu Xiaolin told reporters.
While promoting the accelerated construction of the project, the investment promotion work is also proceeding without interruption. It is understood that after the project is successfully operational, it is expected to generate nearly 6.5 million yuan in tax revenue and create more than 200 new jobs. Liu Desheng, the project's investment promotion and operation manager, revealed, "Currently, the investment promotion work for the smart farmers' market has been completed, and other business formats such as new energy vehicles, science and education research centers, catering, and other supporting life formats are under continuous investment promotion."
What is a "near-zero carbon building"?
A "near-zero carbon building" refers to a building that, by adapting to climate characteristics and site conditions, uses passive building design to maximize the reduction of the building's energy needs. During operation, it is fully electrified, does not use gas, and the building's carbon emissions remain at a low level.
A "near-zero carbon building" not only uses various methods to reduce its own carbon emissions, but also collects and reuses rainwater and makes full use of renewable energy sources such as solar energy, ultimately achieving the ideal state of "zero wastewater, zero energy consumption, and zero waste."
