New regulations are coming! BIPV welcomes new opportunities under the "Residential Project Specifications"

On March 13, 2025, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development announced the "Residential Project Specifications" (GB 55038-2025) This was clarified as a mandatory engineering construction standard, to be implemented from May 1st. This new regulation not only sets new standards for residential construction but also marks a key step in China's construction industry's transition to green and low-carbon development!

Three "hard indicators" for residential photovoltaic installations under the new specifications

The "Residential Project Specifications" puts forward clear requirements for photovoltaic installations in newly built residential buildings: When newly built residential buildings use photovoltaic systems, unified planning, simultaneous design, and simultaneous construction should be adopted, and the setting of the photovoltaic system should comply with the following regulations

1. It should be firmly connected to the main building structure;

2. Waterproof, sealing, and drainage construction measures should be adopted;

3. It should not damage the waterproof layer and ancillary facilities of the residential building.
