Located in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, t ə m ə sew ̓ the txw Swimming and Community Centre has officially opened. t ə m ə sew ̓ txw comes from h ə n ̓ q ̓ə min ̓ə m ̓ language, meaning "sea otter's home."
This $114 million CAD, 10,684 square meter swimming and community center is the first completed in Canada all-electric facility and has achieved the Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC)'s zero-carbon building design standard. At the same time, this project is also the first swimming pool to use the gravity-fed InBlue filtration system, which reduces the use of chlorine and the production of related harmful by-products, thereby improving air and water quality. 。

The building is as long as the block, approximately 146 meters (479 feet), and successfully integrates into the local landscape, creating an iconic urban expression. The stepped modular facade has a human scale, while the building's contact with the ground anchors it in the reconstructed canyon space. The robust black roof unifies the different spatial elements into a cohesive whole. 。
The spacious, double-height hall is the building's vibrant community center. The local heavy timber glulam roof is the most important feature of this space, and skylights illuminate the entire space, attracting people to Enter.
The east side of the building provides the public with a wide range of health-focused aquatic facilities, as well as professional competition-level facilities. Under the heavy folded roof of timber and steel beams, the multi-functional leisure pool accommodates the needs of people of all ages to play and exercise while incorporating a 25-meter circulating lane with spray elements and a slow-flowing lane for play and rehabilitation.
