House with Three Pavilions

🧱  Goa, India

📖 Architect: GROUNDED

This rural Goa residence, created by Indian architectural design firm GROUNDED, led by Anjali Mangalgiri, combines contemporary design approaches with sustainable construction. Anjali says: “The house attempts to have minimal to zero impact on the native natural ecological cycles surrounding the new construction. It makes a positive contribution to the environment by fostering biodiversity and replenishing groundwater levels.” As a second home, the building occupies only a small portion of its wider site. Natural materials, such as terracotta tiles, teak wood, and natural Indian stone in a blue-green shade, which connect the building to its surroundings, play a key role in the design.
