Haus on the Ridge
🧱 Kent, England
📖 Architect: TP Bennett

TP Bennett founder Doug Smith revealed that the design inspiration for Haus on the Ridge came from a series of cameras manufactured by Eastman Kodak in the early 20th century. This home, created in collaboration with architect Sam Clarke, sits in the English countryside, not only visually striking and adhering to sustainable building principles, but also strictly following passive house standards. Smith said, “As architects, we all dream of designing and building our own homes. I’ve long been interested in the passive house concept, and this project gave Sam and me a great opportunity to challenge ourselves, combining clean, minimalist, excellent design with the sustainability of passive building.” His wife, Wendy, added, “The passive house regulations provide a certain level of comfort, and even more, for the design standards. The simple, open living spaces, with their pleasant interaction with the outside space and the rural environment, make living in the house a delightful experience.”
