Outdoor furniture manufacturer Vestre and Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) have created “The Plus”, the world’s most sustainable factory. Vestre’s current CEO, Stefan Tjust, stated: “The Plus is a factory for the people! We have invested a great deal of time and effort into this. Today is an important day for us, for Norwegian industry, and for Scandinavian export cooperation.” The Plus, a low-lying building, gets its name from its cruciform floor plan. The building is 130 meters on each side, with a construction area of 7,000 square meters. It’s relatively simple, but with extremely high space utilization and maximum use of outdoor space. Goods Enter at one end and are then distributed to the timber plant and paint plant. Products are assembled in the fourth wing and then shipped out from the other end. The building itself is a large conveyor belt.
