Recently, the new Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport was officially completed. SOM was responsible for the architectural design, and Enter Projects Asia handled the interior design. The overall design employs a pioneering approach combining green technology and bamboo. As a crucial piece of transportation infrastructure, Terminal 2 is located in Bengaluru, one of India's largest cities, serving Bengaluru and the surrounding areas. Therefore, the overall design aims to maintain Bengaluru's reputation as a "Garden City." The building's interior features extensive planting, making the balance between the plants' lighting needs and the building's energy load particularly important. Through carefully considered skylight design, the building provides ample filtered natural light to the interior spaces.
