BIPV - A Key Path for Building Energy Efficiency (with Case Studies)
Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) is an application of distributed photovoltaic power generation systems. It organically combines photovoltaic power generation products with buildings, possessing both power generation and building material attributes. It offers solutions to a series of problems associated with traditional photovoltaic systems added to rooftops.
With the acceleration of urbanization and the improvement of people's living standards, coupled with industrial restructuring and the rapid development of the tertiary industry, which mainly relies on buildings to provide service venues, China's building energy consumption intensity and carbon emission intensity will increase significantly. To achieve the "dual carbon" goals in the construction industry, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has issued a number of important policies, and various regions across the country are also continuously issuing corresponding supporting policies.

BIPV's economic advantages are becoming prominent, making it a more competitive photovoltaic building solution in the era of grid parity. Driven by the "dual carbon" goals, the construction industry urgently needs transformation, policy support is increasing, and explosive growth is expected during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
Next, let's appreciate some beautiful examples of the combination of photovoltaics and architecture at home and abroad:
