Case Study | Trina Solar Qinghai Base Integrated Building BIPV Project
The Trina Solar Qinghai base integrated building is located in the Xining Economic and Technological Development Zone. The west facade of the building is inlaid with colored photovoltaic glass independently developed by Trina Green Building; with a low-key gray tone, they quietly blend into the transparent world of the glass curtain wall, adding vitality to the building.

The BIPV design of the building considers both the aesthetics and the practicality and functionality of the building. Opening windows are set in the rear cavity formed by the photovoltaic glass and aluminum grille, allowing natural air circulation inside the building, adjusting wind speed while filtering large particulate matter from the air. The photovoltaic glass not only provides clean electricity for the building but also blocks sunlight radiation, slowing down the rise in indoor temperature, further reducing energy consumption, and achieving energy saving and carbon reduction effects for the building.

Colored Photovoltaic Glass

- Wide range of applications: As a green building material, it can be widely used in various scenarios such as building roofs, facades, wind and rain corridors, fences, and sunshades.
- Compliant with architectural aesthetics: Customizable colors and textures to achieve a new aesthetic for green buildings.
- High power, low attenuation: Using Trina Solar's latest N-type TOPCon cell technology;
- Meeting building characteristics: Using double-layer glass + PVB lamination process, it shows excellent performance in fire prevention, heat insulation, and weather resistance, meeting the dual standards of photovoltaic and building.
