This project started early and is an important demonstration project for the future development of photovoltaic systems on the roofs of railway stations by the Ministry of Railways.It was also the largest and highest capacity photovoltaic building-integrated project in Hubei Province at that time.
The Wuhan Railway Station photovoltaic grid-connected power generation project has a power generation capacity of 2.2MW. This project is combined with the main project of Wuhan Railway Station using the BIPV method. The project is mainly composed of four parts: the solar photovoltaic components and junction boxes above the metal roof of the railway station; the inverters, low-voltage switchgear, and power cables connecting them below the metal roof of the railway station.
The photovoltaic components and junction boxes above the metal roof of the railway station are installed on ten areas, including eight pillarless rain shelters and the two sides of the central hall on the metal roof of the railway station, namely five on the south side and five on the north side of the station. The Wuhan Railway Station photovoltaic grid-connected power generation project uses currently very mature monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic components, with a battery conversion efficiency of 16.95%, a component conversion efficiency of 14.96%, and a designed service life of not less than 25 years.
The successful operation of the project is of great significance to Hubei Province and Wuhan City in terms of energy saving and environmental protection.
