Germany: 17.76 percent growth in new PV installations in April 2024

AccordingGermanyThe latest statistics released by the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) show that in April 2024, Germany added 1.04GW of new photovoltaic installations, an increase of 17.76 percent year-on-year.
In April, new PV installations were dominated by EEG-funded rooftop solar systems, accounting for 572 MW, down from 632 MW in March. According to the EEG bidding plan, the installed capacity of the winning ground project is 323 MW and the installed capacity of the roof photovoltaic system is 23.8MW. In addition, compared with 186.2MW in March, the new capacity of unsubsidized ground photovoltaic projects decreased significantly to 83.1 MW in this month.
From January to April 2024, Germany added a total of 4.98GW of new PV installations, an increase of 34.23 percent over the same period in 2023. Among them, Bavaria has the largest installed capacity, reaching 1.096GW, followed by Baden-Württemberg with 684 MW, and Saxony with 651 MW.
