The new version of "architectural lighting design standards" announced! Implemented from August 1

Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development officially issued the Announcement on National Standards , approving the "Architectural Lighting Design Standards" as the national standard, numbered GB/T 50034-2024, which will be officially implemented from August 1, 2024. The original national standard "Architectural Lighting Design Standards" GB 50034-2013 will be abolished at the same time.

The new version of the "architectural lighting design standards" by a number of key lighting enterprises and design institutes jointly drafted, around the building within the scope of the red line of lighting design, product selection, lighting settings, lighting environment requirements, energy-saving requirements, control and power supply and distribution requirements are specified. Compared with the 2013 version, the nature of the new version of the "building lighting design standards" has changed,From mandatory standards to recommended standards.The main contents of the new edition of the Architectural Lighting Design Standard include general principles, terminology, basic regulations, lighting quantity and quality, lighting standard values, lighting energy conservation, lighting power distribution and control, appendices, etc., which are consistent with the old edition. Compared with the old version, the new version of the standard mainly revised the following technical content:

Improve the efficiency of lamps, lighting power density and other energy-saving index requirements;
Added the performance index of LED lamps and LED lamps, LED drive power selection and application and other technical requirements;
Increased lighting comfort, photobiological safety, flicker and stroboscopic effects, non-visual effects and other health lighting technical indicators;
Supplement and improve the technical content of intelligent lighting control system;
Added the technical content of lighting DC power distribution;
The technical content of outdoor functional lighting within the red line of building land is added;
Adjust some technical contents of the standard in combination with practical application.

In addition, the mandatory provisions on the current value of lighting power density involved in the new edition of "Building Lighting Design Standard" are all incorporated into "Code for Building Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Utilization" GB 55015-2021, retaining the target value of lighting power density and the current value requirements of non-mandatory requirements for each place, and the number is adjusted to GB/T 50034.
