The earth is our common home. We must uphold the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, join hands to address challenges in the field of climate and environment, and protect this blue planet. Here, I would like to share a few views.
First, increase efforts to address climate change. The G20 should continue to play a leading role in promoting the full and effective implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change under the guidance of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Not long ago, I announced that China will increase its nationally determined contributions and strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. China will do what it says and will unswervingly implement it.
Second, further promote clean energy transformation. China appreciates Saudi Arabia's concept of a carbon circular economy, its support for low-carbon energy transition in the post-epidemic era, and the goal of sustainable energy for all. China has built the world's largest clean energy system, and its production and sales of new energy vehicles have ranked first in the world for five consecutive years. According to the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the long-term goals for 2035, China will promote the safe and efficient use of clean, low-carbon energy, accelerate the development of new energy, green and environmental protection industries, and promote the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development.
Third, build an ecosystem that respects nature. China supports the G20 in deepening cooperation in areas such as reducing land degradation, protecting coral reefs, and dealing with marine plastic waste, so as to build a stronger global ecological security barrier. The 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity will be held in Kunming, China in May next year. China sincerely welcomes all parties to attend and looks forward to the conference setting goals and taking actions for global biodiversity protection in the coming period. Let us join hands to build a clean and beautiful world together!
