Fight the epidemic together, promote recovery together, and seek peace together

Dear President Macron,

Dear colleagues,

Ladies and gentlemen, friends:

It is a great pleasure to attend the third Paris Peace Forum. Since its establishment, the forum has provided an important platform for all parties to enhance mutual understanding, improve global governance, promote multilateralism, and maintain world peace, and has played a positive role. I appreciate the efforts made by President Macron and the French side.

At present, the world structure is evolving rapidly, traditional security and non-traditional security threats are emerging one after another, and the instability and uncertainty of the international situation have increased significantly. Global threats and challenges require a global response. Here, I make three suggestions.

First, unite and help each other to fight the epidemic. The new crown pneumonia epidemic is still raging around the world. We should adhere to the concept of putting people first and life first, putting people first, respecting science, precise prevention and control, joint response, giving full play to the key leadership role of the World Health Organization, and promoting international joint prevention and control.

China is willing to continue to share anti-epidemic experience and diagnosis and treatment technology with other countries, provide necessary medical supplies, fulfill China's commitment to vaccines as a global public product, help the international community, especially developing countries, improve their ability to respond to public health emergencies, and promote the construction of human health. community.

Second, open cooperation and jointly promote recovery. Two weeks ago, the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China deliberated and approved proposals on formulating the 14th five-year plan for national economic and social development and the vision for 2035, planning China's future development. China will practice the new development concept, build a new development pattern, and promote high-quality development. To this end, we will unswervingly deepen reform and expand opening up, and work with the international community to maintain the stability of the global industrial chain and supply chain, and build an open world economy. China will well implement the G20's "Debt Repayment Suspension Initiative for the Poorest Countries", actively carry out international development cooperation, and help African and other developing countries tide over difficulties.

Green economy is the trend of human development and the key to promoting recovery. Both China and the EU adhere to the concept of green development and are committed to implementing the Paris Agreement on climate change. Not long ago, I proposed that China will increase its nationally determined contributions and strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. China will formulate an implementation plan for this. We are willing to, together with the EU and France, take the opportunity of holding international conferences on biodiversity, climate change and nature conservation next year to deepen relevant cooperation.

Third, uphold justice and maintain peace. We should adhere to peaceful coexistence, respect the development rights of all countries, respect the development paths and models independently chosen by countries, uphold multilateralism, oppose unilateralism, hegemonism, power politics, and all forms of terrorism and extreme violence, and safeguard the world Fairness and justice and peace and security.

Both China and France are permanent members of the UN Security Council and have special and important responsibilities in maintaining world peace. China pursues an independent foreign policy of peace and unswervingly pursues the path of peaceful development. We call on all countries to uphold international law and the basic norms of international relations, decide their positions based on the merits of the matter, and abandon ideological prejudice and confrontation. China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with countries including France, and make positive contributions to promoting political solutions to international and regional issues and maintaining world peace and stability.

On the journey of the great road, the world is for the public. Peace and development are the theme of the times and an irresistible historical trend. Facing the challenges facing mankind, all countries in the world should strengthen solidarity instead of creating barriers, promote cooperation instead of provoking conflicts, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind to benefit people all over the world.
