Among them, 73.1 billion kwh of renewable energy electricity accounted for 21.6% of the province's total social electricity consumption, exceeding the goal set by the state for our province. Emerging businesses are booming. With the in-depth implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy and efforts to optimize the policy environment, the vitality of the market players in the province has continued to increase, new energy and new business formats have continued to emerge, and a series of pilot demonstration projects have been approved by the state. The four rural energy revolution pilot counties of Lankao, Yucheng, Yongcheng, and Shangshui have achieved initial results, and the construction of the "1+5" fuel cell vehicle demonstration application city cluster led by Zhengzhou has continued to accelerate.

The industrial foundation is gradually consolidated. The wind power industry chain has been gradually improved, and wind power photovoltaic equipment manufacturing bases have been built in Anyang, Xinyang, Puyang, and Xuchang. The rise of the energy storage industry is accelerating, and the market share of enterprises such as Pinggao and Xu Ji is growing rapidly. The agglomeration effect of the hydrogen energy industry in Zhengzhou and Xinxiang has begun to show, forming a relatively stable supply chain. Clean heating has achieved remarkable results, and the "Zhoukou Area Geothermal Clean Heating Project" was selected as a demonstration project for Sino-Finnish energy cooperation by the National Energy Administration.

Distributed utilization has achieved remarkable results. According to local conditions, vigorously promote distributed photovoltaic power generation, and accelerate the construction of distributed transaction pilot projects. By the end of 2020, the province's distributed photovoltaic power generation installed capacity was 5.71 million kilowatts, ranking fifth in the country. A total of 2.676 million kilowatts of photovoltaic poverty alleviation projects have been completed, covering 406,000 poor households in 110 counties (cities, districts). From the perspective of our province, with the in-depth implementation of the green and low-carbon transformation strategy, enterprises in various places are enthusiastic about project development, with a large number of project reserves. The installed capacity of renewable energy power generation is growing rapidly, and the utilization of renewable energy is increasing year by year. The average daily consumption can be reduced by nearly 100,000 tons of standard coal has strongly supported the green and low-carbon transformation of energy in the province. However, as the installed capacity and proportion continue to increase, future development will also face multiple challenges. First, the constraints on land, resources and the environment have been strengthened. Our province is a large agricultural province. The plain areas are dominated by cultivated land, and most of them are basic farmland. The water and soil ecology in mountainous areas is relatively fragile, and most of them are located within the ecological red line. It is difficult to select project sites. Second, the market consumption situation is becoming increasingly severe. Our province is an important energy input area and power receiving end. The development of renewable energy relies on local consumption and does not have the conditions for external market consumption. According to a comprehensive judgment, during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the opportunities and challenges for the development of renewable energy in our province coexist, and the opportunities outweigh the challenges.
