Guangdong Qingyuan Olympic Sports Center

Qingyuan Olympic Sports Center is the main venue of the Guangdong Provincial Games. Construction started on September 28, 2019. It consists of a 30,000-seat stadium, a 9,000-seat gymnasium and a 2,000-seat swimming pool. The construction area of the stadium is about 56,000 square meters, which can accommodate 30,000 people to watch sports events. The roof adopts a space truss + cable structure system, and the roof is equipped with a solar photovoltaic power generation system.
A total of 2,684 pieces of customized Longyan blue cadmium telluride photovoltaic building materials were installed in the venue. Each piece has a different shape and size, and the upper part has a smaller inclination angle, which can have higher power generation efficiency. Qingyuan Olympic Sports Center is the first stadium in South China to use a public closed roof and a new solar photovoltaic power generation system; after the photovoltaic system is put into use, it is expected to generate 350,000 kWh per year, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 330,000 tons
